I am very sad to learn of Jack's passing. My condolences to his family during this difficult time. I knew Jack for over 40 years. As a fellow Chicago area enthusiast and collector, I knew him in his role as a coin piano, orchestrion, music machine literature, and roll enthusiast. We would spend a lot of time on the telephone talking music machines, music machine rolls, and their history and Chicago politics. I especially remember a fun time we had at Dave Ramey's 50th wedding anniversary party. My parents and I shared a table with Jack and his wife and had a great time! I especially enjoyed talking to him about Valente's Tavern (a special location with music machines) and Svoboda's Tavern.
I will miss him as a dear friend and a special connection to the past era of mechanical music. If you have any questions about the music machines or need any help do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Tim Trager

Jack will be missed by those in the Chicago area AMICA and MBSI Clubs. His memory is a lasting legacy to those of us who shared his passion for mechanical music and player pianos.
