Obituary of Henry C. Runge

Tribute & Message From The Family Henry C Runge, 89, of Blue Island, beloved husband of the late Constance J. nee Myers, loving father of Pamela (Thomas) Barich, Janice Soria (Dominic Soria) and Gerald (Kim), devoted grandfather of Dominic Soria, Joseph Soria, Brian Runge, Matthew Runge and Joshua Runge, cherished great grandfather of Amidala and Benjamin Soria. Dear brother of the late Martin, Lorita Wesselhoff, Bernice Reynolds and Glenn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Mission Covenant Church or "Mario's Kids" in care of Mission Covenant Church greatly appreciated. Henry was a faithful member of Mission Covenant Church for nearly fifty years, formerly serving as a youth counselor. He was an active citizen of the City of Blue Island, formerly serving as a volunteer fireman, board member of Reach Out, volunteer for Blue Cap, The Salvation Army and United Way. He was a "Special Friend" of District 218 TMH students, and hase served on the Historical Society Board. Henry has received many awards for his service with these organizations, including; Heart of Gold from United Way, PLOWS and Elks awards and was honored as a Distinguished Citizen of the Year from the Cook County Sheriff's Office for outstanding service to Reach Out.
