I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Tony. I remember him pitching batting practice to Joe and I at Hart Park, just when you had thought you had his fastball down, he would throw the knuckler. Just want to thank him for memories I will never forget. Mark Shandro

To Mrs. Savino, Joe, John, Jimmy, and Henry... Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your husband and father Anthony. He was the best, a very good man, such a kind and caring person who always treated everyone so well. During my days growing up in Blue Island I spent many hours hanging out at the Savino household due my friendship with Joe and his brothers. Tony was always so engaging and friendly, treating me with respect as well as sharing wonderfully interesting conversation. Of course, there were so many interactions during my 25 years of coaching baseball at Hart Park as well. Two things come to mind when I reflect back on those days sitting in the Savino kitchen...Tony was always on the go, never sitting down because he was always doing something around the house. Of course, he had such a great laugh, rich and hearty, that was infectious...you always were in for a good time. I'm so glad that he had a life well-lived, rich and full. God has plans for everyone.
