There are no words to express the sadness. Melvin was a kind hearted person that would give you the shirt off his back (and he did MANY times). He was loved by many. Prayers to Joanne, Laura, William and all who are grieving, as they go through this difficult time. Melvin, your smile will forever be remembered and your friendship forever cherished. Rest in Peace, my friend. Until we meet again.

I grew up next door to Melvin. I remember Melvin as a kind and generous friend. Melvin, my brothers, Ken, Dan and myself would go up to the service station at 113 and Wentworth to hang out, drink bottles of pop, and watch the mechanic. Many times it was Melvin's treat. Sometimes we would head up to the Puppy Palace, a hot dog stand, at 113 and Halsted and I remember Melvin buying lunch. Melvin was working on his car before he had a driver's license. He loved cars, he loved working on cars, and he loved big 396 and 427 engines. I pray that the Good Lord holds the Duncan family close and brings all of you his peace.

Our condolences to you and your family. He was a dear friend to Norton with all the rest of kids that hung out together in the 60 's and 70's. They had some of the best times of their lives. Racing and other mischievous things made there friendship even stronger. Love to you JoAnn, Laura and William
