Obituary of Oliver M. Skip Pronger

Oliver M. “Skip” Pronger Jr., 85, of Blue Island, passed from this life Sunday, February 20, 2022. Skip is the beloved husband of Bonnie nee Willis. The couple were united in marriage on September 26, 1964. He is the loving father of Merritt Pronger, Scott Pronger and Kimberly Pronger. Skip was the dear brother of the late Janet Kedrouske and the late David Pronger. He leaves many other family members and friends to cherish his memory. Oliver was born August 17, 1936 in Blue Island to the late Ellen Janet nee Berry and the late Oliver Marion Pronger. He was a United States Army Veteran and was formerly employed as a welder by Chicago Bridge & Iron in Plainfield. Skip was a former Boy Scout Troop Leader and Explorer Post Leader. He enjoyed camping and canoeing. Skip was an experienced beekeeper. He shared not only his local honey with the community, but also his knowledge of this special hobby. Visitation for Skip will be held Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:00 am the funeral home. Interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National VA Cemetery in Elwood.
