(Bonnie Reardon)
Ron and Michael...I was saddened to hear about the passing of Bonnie. She was a tremendous individual who was so giving to others her entire life.
I can't believe it's been over 45 years since we all lived acrosss the alley from each other. The time has just flown by.
I'll always associate Bonne with the Tiny Tots program at the Park District and Blue Island Westside Little League.
I vividly remember talking with her many times about Tiny Tots. She was so passionate about children and learning, especially the "little one." I remember mentioning to her about how I was thinking about going into education. She not only encouraged me to do so, but also told me that I'd be good at it. I was in education over 30 years and enjoyed (almost) every minute of it. I always so thankful to those people who who encouraged me to pursue it.
There would not have been a Westside Little League if it were not for Bonnie. Like a true Blue Islander, she did not want to see it fade away, especially when the land on 127th Street was sold and a new location was needed. She was the main reason why it was able to continue at its new location. Blue Island wouldn't be Blue Island with Little League baseball on both sides of the city. We have so many great memories of the annual City Series.
Mostly, I will remember Bonnie as a kind, gentle soul who epitomized the words "decent human being." I'm so glad I got to know and spend some time with her.
I know Bonnie is in a better place. One always wonders how much time we have on this earth and what's God's plan for us. All I can say is to cherish the memories, remember the good times, and take solace in knowing that she will always be with each and every one us. Just smile and think of the great times had with such a wonderful person. Simply, she was the best!

I remember Bonnie well from living on the same block, but it is with most fondness that I think of Tiny Tots. Will and Katie LOVED going to spend the afternoon with her playing with clay, building block towers, coloring, etc. I often stayed to help out since both Bonne and Mrs. Groskopf were getting up there in years; I was always struck by how Bonnie was beyond patient and had such a great way with the kids. She was a terrific person and will be sorely missed.

There was no better Tiny Tots teacher than Bonnie Reardon! She was great with the little ones and an inspiration to us all. The Westside Little League was lucky to have her and Ron as volunteers long after their son finished playing the sport. May she rest in peace.

Mrs. Reardon was the best! She took a scared lil 5 yr old and peeled her lil hands off the doors of the Field House when she just wasn't quite ready for the Tiny Tots life just yet, and found a way to make her feel welcome and excited to come back the next day afterall. Growing up, anytime I saw her she always greeted me with a huge hug and that warm smile and was sure to remind me of the story of scared lil 5yr old! She will be greatly missed. Thoughts and prayers to Mr. Reardon and the family!
