Mrs. Ferrin was a terrific person. Her insights were valuable, as were her recollections. As mentioned at this site, she loved her community, and she volunteered in a variety of capacities throughout her life to not only make Blue Island and Worth Township better, but to make people's lives better. I always will remember her as an avid reader. She always seemed to have multiple books going at the same time. Thank you, Mrs. Ferrin. I will miss our conversations, and I will remember those we had. My condolences to the Ferrin Family. JG

As a Blue Island native, you always knew where you were going with Mom when it came time for new "dress" clothes and who was going to make you look the "nines" for your event: Kline's Department Store and Mrs. Ferrin! I once tried to pick out something on my own and was given two to three other options (that was her kind way of saying, "not on my watch"). Mrs. Ferrin was always kind and welcomed everyone into her home. She will be missed, but her influence will live on. Love you Mrs. Ferrin!

Rest in Peace Marilyn. She was my Aunt's BF, my Mom's partner in crime, and my boss for a while at Kline's. She practiced her Grandparenting skills on my daughter before 'Little' Jeff came along. It seems as if she would be here forever. We will only remember the good times and there were plenty of those, from Cliff and Marilyn sitting around the table playing cards with Mom and Dad to Mom and Marilyn shutting down the Champagne brunch at the Sheraton. End of an era.
Join the card game already in progress and say Hi! to the gang.

My Grandma was the most kind, generous, caring, NON judgmental, loving, sweetest, amazingly wonderful person I've ever met in my life. She was the best listener and always gave the best advice. My favorite memories growing up were Thanksgiving and Christmas. She'd cook for everyone and made sure everyone got their food first and then she'd eat last. Every summer, she'd have all of the grandchildren over and spend between 2-3 nights one week ( and sometimes it was "cousins week") and we would go swimming in her pool, watch movies with her, go to the park, etc. And every year, every grandchild got to go on a shopping spree with her EVERY SINGLE birthday until we all turned 18. Being at her house and being around her energy was honestly the best. It doesn't seem real that she passed. I'll always keep the memories of her using "adult words" (educating us about grown up things) and saying "eww grandma! Don't say that!" And watching Titanic, Hocus Pocus, And my all time favorite "The Sound Of Music " at her house. She literally owned every single Disney movie. *sigh* the list honestly goes on and on, but she made sure that every single person in her family KNEW they were loved. I LOVE YOU GRANDMA! and we all miss you TREMENDOUSLY!! RIP BEAUTIFUL ANGEL!!!!! ❤❤❤❤

Wonderful Lady.. Sat through many a Little League Game with Marilyn.. And each Spring “ Pool “ time for her to ready the pool for her family .. She’d hook up with me at Jebens Hardware to have ready all the merchandise to paint the pool. If I have it right her late husband Cliff was not a fun of the pool .,He’d just as well bulldoze it and fill it., But No that was an important place for Marilyn and FAMILY!! Yes, She was all about FAMILY! Rest In Peace , Marilyn.. My Very Best to Your FAMILY as they will so Miss You..
