Obituary of Gerald James Reiniche

Gerald J. Reiniche, 93, of Oak Forest, passed from this life Thursday, February 28, 2019. He was the beloved husband of the late Clare nee Gasperowich, who passed away in 1998. Gerald is the loving father of Mary Ellen (Paul) Means-Cieszkiewicz and Dr. Kathleen (Dr. Donald) Parsons. He is the devoted grandfather of Jay Means, Joshua (Mindy) Means, Jessica Parsons and Simone Means and the proud great grandfather of Jake Means, Kyle Means and Madelyn Means. Gerald is the dear brother of Dolores Lorenzetti, Verne Reiniche, Gail Reiniche, Cheryl Lynn Stanick and the late Colleen Halstead. He is the cherished companion of Evelyn Koehler.

Gerald was a WWII United States Navy veteran. He was formerly employed by Robertson Transformer of Blue Island, retiring as Vice-President of Engineering at the age of seventy. Gerald was an avid pilot and member of AOPA.

Visitation for Gerald will be held Monday, March 4, 2019 from 8:30 am until the time of chapel prayers at 10:30 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island, then to St. George Catholic Church, 6707 W. 175th St., Tinley Park, for mass at 11:30. Interment will take place at St. Benedict Cemetery in Crestwood.
