Obituary of Eugene R. Bauer

Eugene {Gene} R. Bauer, 88, of Blue Island, passed from this life Sunday, February 11, 2018.

Gene is the beloved father of Larri Lyn (Larry) Rauch and Kris Ann Huff (Steve Perkins). He is the devoted grandfather of Raemond {Ramie} nee Rauch (Mickey) Wiltgen and Brett A. Huff (Brianna Gerhard). Gene is the proud great grandfather of Emma Rauch-Wiltgen and Jack Wiltgen. He was the son of the late Pearl nee Cure and Albert W. Bauer and is the dear brother of Shirley Hensley and the late Lloyd Bauer and the late Leroy {Bud} Bauer.

Gene was a United States Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was  dedicated to the City of Blue Island and served the community as an alderman in the 70's. Gene was the former co-owner of Bauer Brothers AMC Jeep. He was a member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association, his achievements include being an All-American Champion and being inducted into the IL Trapshooting Hall of Fame.

A memorial visitation will be held for Gene on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 9:00 am until the time of memorial service at 11:00 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Avenue, Blue Island. Cremation will be private.
