Obituary of Margaret Brienzo

Margaret Brienzo nee Sekerka, 92, of Blue Island. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel M. Brienzo, who passed away September 28, 2012. The couple were united in marriage in 1949. Margaret was the loving mother of the late Ken (Karen) Brienzo and Jim Brienzo. She is the devoted grandmother of Ben (Lisa) Brienzo and Sam (Jennifer) Brienzo and the proud great grandmother of Benjamin Brienzo and Christopher Brienzo. Margaret is the fond aunt of Donald Schupek, Rick (Sandy) Shupek and Kathy Erickson. She was the dear sister of the late Josephine (late Ivan) Vonburg, late Ann (late Del) Erickson, late Stella (late Walter) Schupek, late Joseph (late Bernice) Sekerka, late Polly (late William) Faber and late John Sekerka. Margaret was a faithful member of St. Donatus Parish serving as a member of the Womens Club and volunteering at the annual Feast. She was a former member of the Lady Elks Auxiliary. Margaret loved cooking delicious meals for her family, enjoyed sewing and participating in the bowling leagues at Burr Oak Bowl. Visitation for Margaret will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2018, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Chapel prayers Wednesday, 9:00 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island then to St. Donatus Church, 1939 Union St., Blue Island for mass at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at St. Benedict Cemetery in Crestwood.
