Mr. Benton was such a kind man and loved his Jeff City newspaper just a much as my mother did. He went to the trouble of sending her her copy when it got mis-delivered with his own. I mention this now as I'm going through boxes of letters she saved. Mom passed in 2021 and I looked up Mr. Benton's name to see if I could thank him again for her.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Benton's passing. Although it's been many years since I 've seen or heard from many Cal Park neighbors. But I know from my younger years how much of great man he was and always active in everything and remember the many nights of FOOTLIGHTS he did with my parents. Mr. Benton will be missed by many but never forgotten of all he did for so many people. GOD BLESS YOU. Xoxox lots of love to the family. My mom was a resident at Franciscan Village while your dad was there . He was one of the first people we met there. He used to sit in the lobby and kabitz and sing with the folks after dinner. He was always so pleasant and had something nice to say.. He took a genuine interest and would remember what you had talked about with him the last time you saw him. My sisters and brothers and I were really fond of him. His ability to be a "sweet talker" was a lot like our own dad. We are sorry to hear he's gone but he won't be forgotten. Wishing you peace,
