Obituary of Bruce Lee Bailey
Bruce Lee Bailey, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Metro South Hospital, Blue Island, IL. He was born on October 3, 1953, and was one of six children born to the late Noah C., II (N.C.) and Ruth Bailey. He attended public schools in Chicago, graduating from DuSable High School in 1972 and attended Malcolm X College.
Bruce retired from the Army in July, 1996. At an early age he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago.
Bruce will forever be remembered by his devoted wife Yvette, his sons James and Leslie and daughter Erin Bailey; three grand-children; his younger Brother Don (Sherry) of Chicago, IL; loving sister Bettie DuBose (Jerome) of Haughton, LA; along with countless friends and family who were blessed to have known him.
Bruce loved the Chicago Cubs, music, movies, hamburgers, laughing, and being with his family. He touched the lives of many people with his smile, generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
Entombment of cremains ceremony was held on Friday, September 23, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full military honors.
