Frieda was a dear friend to my Mother and Father, that is how I was introduced to her. As long as Mom could drive she would go visit Frieda while she just off of Kedzie Ave. Frieda's house was just down the road from my daughter and I used to live. My daughter would go there after school and spend time with Frieda. Frieda would show her books and tell her stories. My daughter said she loved spending afternoons with Frieda. A great comfort to me as a single working Mom. Frieda remembered a hymn I learned as a child that sung the books of the Bible, she sang it for us. She even had the hymnal it was contained in. Frieda was a dear sweet woman, a privilege to know. Frieda was one of 'special mightiness' spoken of in Psalms.

Our deepest condolences to your family, I will always fondly remember Great Aunt Frieda from the family reunions we attended in Blue Island as a child, and then to see her again for her 85th party - what a dear lady. Cindy

At Providence Healthcare & Rehab Center, we have many young students that volunteer. I always enjoyed the reaction of the students when I would say to them: "Who do you think is 100 years old in this room ?" They always gathered around her when I introduced them to Frieda. I would often ask her, can I tell them how old you are ??? She always repleid yes, and was very gracious. I have fond memories of her taking part in activities and I just loved her gentle and kind spirit. I don't beleive I ever heard Freida complain about a thing, she was wonderful. I beleive Frida had many gifts given to her by the Holy Spirit. She will always be remembered.

I can just imagine how happy everyone is to see her in heaven! Aunt Frieda was always, to me, a gentle, sweet person... with a core of steel. You don't get to be 100 years old by being a sissy! Her legacy lives on in her beloved family. May God grant all of you peace and joy as you celebrate a life well lived.

It's hard to believe that we have lost our Grandma. Although she had many, many good years, it is still sad to lose her. She was in so many ways the thread that wove through all of our lives, sustained us, and showed us what love and caring were all about. We will miss her, and all the big and small things she did with us and for us, but she is forever in our hearts and memories.

Gramma you will always be in my heart. The lessons you taught me as a child I still cherish today as an adult. You will be missed but never forgotten. May you rest in peace.
