News travels near and far and no one likes to hear this kind of news. Mike may not have remembered me but I remember him. I moved away from BI when he was young but have fond memories of him as a child, friend and neighbor. Reading of his life and all the good he stood for is so impressive. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

Mike represented our business to Best-tronics for over 10 years. He provided us the best service of any of our suppliers and was always professional and attentive. More impressive is that Mike also made time for a personal connection with many of us and was always interested in the people not only the business.

I remember my cousin Mike was devoted to his family even as a boy. He was a caring, nurturing, and supportive brother to Phillip and a responsible and dutiful son. Mike grew into a value-driven man who obviously cherished his community, children, and wife. His character and integrity will always be remembered.

May the support of family and friends comfort Kim, Casey, and Emma during this most difficult time. It was fun growing up and having Mike as a cousin, and I am glad to know that he was committed to his family and community. He most certainly will not be forgotten. Let's all remember a life well-lived.

The Mother Mcauley community and the Fathers Club will never be the same without Mike. He was a true gift. He made me feel welcome when I was a new Dad to the club in 2009. Mike was the first guy I met when I walked in to my first meeting. I'll never forget him. I'll forever miss the "how ya doin buddy ?" We became friends in short order because of his warm demeanor. I can just see him getting the commitees together up there now. Take care pal. God, see Kim and the girls through this. Barry

I was thankful to call you an alderman. I was excited to call you our Mayor (pro tem). I was humbled to call you our customer. But I still am most thankful and proud to call you my friend. You were a husband and father first. The reason I most respect you. You taught me so much Mike. I will never forget. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand. Rest in peace my friend.
Your legacy carries on!

It goes without saying that you're going to be missed Janks. The memories are plentiful, but what I'll admire most about you is how you were always willing to give up your own time to try and make Blue Island a better place to call home. Others said, you did. You were always happy to lend a hand to any cause that would benefit the community. Your passion was second to none. The love you had for The Island was exceeded only by that of the love of your family. My prayers and condolences to Kim, your daughters and your brother Phil. I'll be sure to have a few slices at St. Donatus for you.
