Obituary of Eleanor M. Potter

Tribute & Message From The Family Eleanor M. Potter, 97, died August 1, 2012 at Rosary Hill Home in Justice IL. She was born April 22, 1915 in Milwaukee Wisconsin and lived most of her life in the South Suburbs of Blue Island, Dixmoor, and Harvey. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Weisenburger, her husbands, William McAley and Herbert Potter, and four siblings Eileen, Leonard (Gwen), Mary and Walter (Kay) Weisenburger. Eleanor was devoted to her Catholic faith and was a member of the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima. She gave many years of volunteer service to the CEDA Center in Harvey. And she also enjoyed the fellowship (and the bingo games) at senior citizen meal sites in Calumet Park and Markham. And she was a dedicated fan of the Chicago White Sox. Survivors include her children Evelyn Vanek of Blue Island, Eileen (Edward) Hoger of Dent, MN. and David McAley of Glenview Il. Her seven grandchildren include Vicki (Dan) O'Rourke, Laurie (Glen) Sias, Jim (Pam) Vanek, Shelby (Jim) Cavanaugh, Jeff (Sandie) Hoger, Elizabeth McAley and Matthew McAley. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on August 18, 2012 with visitation from 10:30 am until 12:15 pm, The Rosary will be said at 11:00 am at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Avenue, Blue Island. There will be a Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm at St Benedict Church, 2339 York Street, Blue Island. Donations in Eleanor's memory may be made to Rosary Hill Home, 9000 W. 81st St., Justice IL. 60458
