Carol & I have been friends for well over 30 years, I actually was her "hairdresser" for many of those years---I have many wonderful memories of our times & talks together & thank God we were able to come back to Chicago last week for a visit & saw her---she was a great friend & we loved her & will miss her ------Kay

Carol, We shall always remember your sweet, gentle ways with our grandchildren, Brian & Eric Maty and will always be thankful for how helpful you were to the Maty family. You had an interest in out-of-town newspapers. Whenever we came from Wisconsin, we made sure we brought our local or Green Bay newspaper for you to read and enjoy. Since Rick passed (far too soon) I tried to visit Mrs. Lee as often as I could. My thinking was always along the lines of "well, she lost her beloved son, so I'll try to lift her spirits a bit." Truth is, she would always lift MINE. For the wise soul that she was, she also somehow remained a joyous little girl at heart (with the COOLEST hairdo on the south side!).

Words cannot express the love that our family has for 'Nanny". She was a mother to me and a wonderful grandma to my children since they were both 6 weeks old. She was there for us when we were sick, happy and had fun stories to tell. She loved Brian and Eric and they dearly loved her. "Nanny", you will be missed. May you rest in peace with your son and husband.
