For a time during the 1980's I was Art's Architect. Reviewing drawings for my website today, I came across some of the Green Brothers type designs done for Art back then. So in trying to get in touch with him I just learned of his passing.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Art. Although I only saw Art at times during the car show season, it was always nice to see him. He was like an anchor for me, if Art was at a cruise or a show I knew it must be of high quality. He always took time to tell me something about the older cars, usually it was an interesting fact about the car we would be discussing. I always appreciated this. I will miss not seeing him at these events. I imagine he must be upstairs now working on his Packards.

To Art's family, My deepest condolences to you & your family at this sad time. Rest assured that Art is at piece & watching over all of you. I first met & worked with Art at the Chevy-Vette Fests & later at the Super Sundays at Indy. At first, Art seemed to be a grumpy ole cuss to me, a newbee, and he probably figured that I wouldn't be around for long. After several years, he finally figured out that I was a regular employee just like(?) him. We had many a lively debate over any number of topics - seemed to me that he just like to spar nothing nasty or personal just spar and debate. The last time that I saw Art was at 'Lectric 'Limiteds' Christmas extravaganza last Dec. He was looking as sharp as I ever seen him & even "jovial" for Art. I'll always cherish our final holiday exchange & goodbye at the end of the evening. Though the 125 miles to Gibson have been between us, I'll always have the memories of working the years of shows & swaps with Art & have an Art story to tell the newbees. John Carlson
