Flavio M. Esparza of Blue Island, passed from this life on Monday, November 4, 2024 at the age of eighty-seven.

Flavio is the beloved husband of Enriqueta Esparza de Castillo. They were united in marriage for over sixty years. Flavio is the devoted father to the late Maria Rocio (Victor) Alvarez, Flavio (Alicia), the late Roberto, Richard, Michael (Erica), Eric (Cristi) and Maritssa (Amer) El-Mashharawy. He is the dear brother to the late Maria Encarnacion, the late Florentino, the late Maria De La Luz, the late Antonia, the late Juan and Arturo. Flavio is the loving grandfather to Julissa, Victor Jr., Edgar, Camilla, Estefania, Stacey, Katie, Isabella, Luke, Andy, Lily, Christian, Micaela, Faisal, Farah and Mohammed. He is the proud great grandfather to Kassandra, Annabelle, Isaac, Arianna, Mila and Coraly. Flavio leaves many other dear family members and friends to cherish his memory.

Flavio was born on May 7, 1937 in Estancia de Animas, Zacatecas, Mexico to the late Heraclio Esparza and the late Micaela Esparza de Montoya. He came to Blue Island in 1961 and has been a resident for over sixty years. Flavio was a faithful and active member of St. Benedict Church.

Visitation for Flavio will be held Friday, November 8, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Avenue, Blue Island. Chapel prayers will begin Saturday at 9:15 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, then to St. Benedict Church/St. Mary Magdalene Parish, 2339 York St., Blue Island for mass at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Benedict Cemetery in Crestwood.
