Obituary of Magdaleno Castillo Frausto

Magdaleno Castillo Frausto, de 90 años, de Blue Island, falleció el lunes 9 de septiembre de 2024.

Magdaleno nació el 10 de agosto de 1934 en Estancia de Animas, Zacatecas, México, hijo de los fallecidos Rafael Castillo Rivera y Magdalena Frausto Castañeda. Fue el amado esposo de la fallecida Ofelia Nieves de Castillo, quien falleció el 20 de diciembre de 2018. Estuvieron unidos en matrimonio por más de cincuenta años. Magdaleno es el padre devoto de los fallecidos Salvador, Salvador (Cruz), Maria Angel (Sergio) Castillo, Alejandro (Juana), Armando (Rosalva), Monica (Omar) Martinez, Maria Dolores, Ludivina (Juan) Hernandez e Isela. Es el hermano amoroso de nueve hermanos. Magdaleno es el abuelo cariñoso de veintiuno y bisabuelo de veinticinco. Deja a muchos otros queridos miembros de la familia y amigos para atesorar su memoria.

Magdaleno era el patriarca de su familia, tenía el corazón de un guerrero y luchó hasta su último aliento. Tenía una personalidad extremadamente juguetona y le encantaba jugar con sus hijos y nietos. Magdaleno siempre sacaba una sonrisa a quienes lo rodeaban, ya que le encantaba ser el bromista de la familia. Siempre será recordado en Blue Island por llevar su gorra azul de los Chicago Cubs, sin embargo, en su ciudad natal en México siempre llevaba su sombrero.

La visita para Magdaleno se llevará a cabo el viernes 13 de septiembre de 2024 de 3:00 pm a 8:00 pm en Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Avenue, Blue Island. Las oraciones en la capilla comenzarán el sábado a las 9:15 am en Krueger Funeral Home, luego a la iglesia St. Donatus, 1939 Union St., Blue Island para la misa a las 10:00 am.

Magdaleno Castillo Frausto, 90, of Blue Island, passed from this life on Monday, September 9, 2024.

Magdaleno was born on August 10, 1934 in Estancia de Animas, Zacatecas, Mexico to the late Rafael Castillo Rivera and the late Magdalena Frausto Castaneda.  He was the beloved husband of the late Ofelia Nieves de Castillo who passed away December 20, 2018.   They were united in marriage for over fifty years. Magdaleno is the devoted father to the late Salvador, Salvador (Cruz), Maria Angel (Sergio) Castillo, Alejandro (Juana), Armando (Rosalva), Monica (Omar) Martinez, Maria Dolores, Ludivina (Juan) Hernandez and Isela.  He is the loving brother to nine siblings.  Magdaleno is the loving grandfather to twenty-one and great grandfather to twenty-five.  He leaves many other dear family members and friends to cherish his memory.

Magdaleno was the patriarch to his family, had the heart of a warrior and fought until his very last breath.  He had an extremely playful personality and loved to play with his kids and grandkids.  Magdaleno always brought a smile to those around him as he loved being the jokester of the family.  He will be remembered around Blue Island always wearing his blue Chicago Cubs hat, however in his hometown in Mexico he was always wearing his Sombrero.

Visitation for Magdaleno will be held Friday, September 13, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Avenue, Blue Island. Chapel prayers will begin Saturday at 9:15 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, then to St. Donatus Church 1939 Union St., Blue Island for mass at 10:00 am.  Interment will take place in Mexico.
