Louis Weckler, 72, of Blue Island, passed from this life on Saturday, August 24, 2024.


Louis is the beloved husband of June Weckler née Thoney. They were united in marriage on March 25, 1971. He is the devoted father to Joseph (Melissa), Michael L. and Angela Kusy. Louis is the loving grandfather to Brittany, Louis James, Daniel, June, Mason and Sean. He is the fond uncle to Virginia (Jeff) Sabella, Tom Jr. (Jason) Mohs, Rich, Barbara, Mason, Sue, Joanna, Kathy and Ted (Jenny) Wahlberg. Louis is the dear brother-in-law to Nancy and was preceded in death by his brother Tommy (Turtle). He leaves many other dear family members and friends to cherish his memory.


Louis was born on March 28, 1952 in Blue Island to the late Thomas Weckler and the late Linda Amelia Weckler née Morris. Louis was a talented bass player for over 40 years and played a variety of genres throughout his career. He also had a passion for cars. Louis loved going anywhere for a joy ride and he enjoyed going fast. He participated in the Route 66 ride and was a Mustang enthusiast. You could often find Louis in the garage cleaning and caring for his 2008 Dark Metallic Candy Apple Red Ford Mustang. His memory will carry on anytime a Mustang goes by.


A Memorial Visitation for Louis will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Avenue, Blue Island. The memorial service will begin at 5:00 pm, Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the Krueger Funeral Home. Cremation is private.
