Suzanne Mear Obituary

Suzanne Mear (née Stankus), 84, of Blue Island passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024.

A longtime resident of Blue Island, she was born in Chicago on December 19, 1939 to the late Walter and Jeanette (née Krych) Stankus. She was an artist and loved to paint. Suzanne loved the outdoors and hiking with her husband and children —most specifically spending summers at Glacier National Park and Polebridge, MT. She also could be found relaxing indoors or outdoors with a good book or a challenging crossword puzzle.

Suzanne was the beloved wife of the late Donald P. Mear Sr. They were united in marriage for 58 years. She is survived by her daughter Wendy (Paul) Klimah; son Donald P. Jr.; daughter Rebecca; son Jonathan (partner Beth DeMeere); her cherished grandson Zephyr; and her sister Marie. Suzanne also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will dearly miss her.

At this time there is only a private family viewing, a celebration of life for family and friends may be held at a later date.
