Obituary of Henry Garcia

Henry Garcia, of Blue Island, passed from this life Thursday, March 28, 2024 at the age of sixty-eight.

Henry was the beloved son of the late Henry Garcia and the late Maria Castaneda. He is the loving brother of Tommy (Judy) Garcia, Laura (the late Isaac) Fonseca, Ruben (the late Dalia) Garcia and David Mendoza (BethAnne Thomas). Henry was the cherished uncle of Marissa (Kevin) Mendoza and dear uncle of many other nieces and nephews. He was the special great uncle to Dalia “DJ”, Kevin “KJ” and Abigail “Abby”. Henry leaves many other family members and friends to cherish his memory.

Henry was born September 17, 1955 in Bensenville, Illinois. His family relocated to Blue Island when he was a young boy and he attended St. Benedict Grade School and Thornton High School. Henry was employed by Modern Drop Forge formerly of Blue Island. He was kind man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Henry was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs. He loved music, especially the sounds of the 80’s. Henry was a true “Trekkie”, spending many hours enjoying Star Trek shows and movies!

A celebration of Henry's life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Beggar's on 127th & Kedzie in Blue Island.
