Constance "Connie" M. Vacca nee Ross, 60 year resident of Blue Island, passed from this life Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the age of 80. Connie was born March 26, 1943 in Cumberland, Wisconsin to the late Andrew Ross and the late Mildred nee Simon. She is the beloved wife of the late Philip J. Vacca Sr., who passed away October 31, 2012. The couple were united in marriage July 13, 1963 in Hayward, Wisconsin. Connie is the loving mother of Philip (Cheri) Vacca Jr., Christianne (Fred) Yentz, Cindy (Tim) Murray and Cheryl (Russ Calabrese) Vacca and the cherished grandmother of Corina (Parin), Alessandra (Brad), Gregory, Tyler, Michaella, Sierra, Ava, Trevor, Anthony and Eleanor. She is the proud great grandmother of Kirin and Evren, the dear sister of Andrea Benson, Paulette Buffurine, Mary Leu, Pat White, Michael Ross and Carrie Walsh and a loving friend and mentor to many.




Connie was a teacher and retired from Dwight D. Eisenhower High School District 218, served on the School Board for District 218 and District 130, was an avid Cardinal soccer fan and loved to travel the world.




Visitation for Connie will be held Friday, November 3, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral sevices begin Saturday morning at 9:00 am with chapel prayers at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 SS. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island then to St. Benedict Church, 2339 York St., Blue Island for Holy Mass at 10:00 am. Cremation is private.
