Kathryn A. Fairchild of Manteno, formerly of Blue Island, passed from this life Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at the age of 93.

Kathryn was born May 11, 1930 in Blue Island to the late Ann Fairchild nee Phillips and the late Louis Fairchild. She was the beloved niece of the late John “Jack” Phillips, Joseph Phillips and Andrew Phillips. Kathryn is the dear cousin of many. She leaves many other family members and friends to cherish her memory.

Kathryn resided in Blue Island from birth until 1998 when she relocated to Manteno. She was a faithful member of St. Benedict Parish until her move. Kathryn was formerly employed as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines, she was very proud of this and found great joy during this time of her life. After this, she was employed as a medical transcriptionist for both Little Company of Mary Hospital and Christ Hospital.

Visitation for Kathryn will take place on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at St. Benedict Church/St. Mary Magdalene Parish from 10:00 am until the time of mass at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial masses in Kathryn’s name greatly appreciated.
