Elaine Heckler nee Stone, 97, of Blue Island, passed from this life Friday, September 15, 2023.

Elaine was the beloved wife of the late Howard E. Heckler, who passed away April 30, 2001. She is the loving mother of Sharon (Robert) Lee, Janice (Michael) Errico, Carol (Thomas) Konrath, Barbara Foy, Susan (George) Becker, Marlene (Pedro) Ramirez, Laurie (Andrew) Benegas and Brian (Rebecca) Heckler. Elaine is the adored grandmother of Kristen, Dawn, Caryn, Janice, Lauren, Jason, Justin, Melissa, Leslie, Nathan, Shannon, Elizabeth, Philip, James, Lisa, Amanda, Melanie and Jake and the proud great grandmother of twenty-four. She leaves many other family members and friends to cherish her memory.

Elaine was a faithful member of St. Benedict Parish and was a member of the Womens Club. She was formerly employed and retired from School District 130 where she worked in the cafeteria. Elaine was dedicated to her family and provided a warm and welcoming home. She enjoyed preparing excellent meals for family and friends only to complete them with a delicious dessert! Elaine had many hobbies, including reading, sewing and working on jigsaw puzzles.

Visitation for Elaine will take place Friday, September 22, 2023 from 9:00 am until time of chapel prayers at 10:45 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island, then to St. Benedict Church/St. Mary Magdalene Parish, 2339 York St., Blue Island for mass at 11:30 am. Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery.
