Norma May Rutz nee Jurries, 95, passed from this life on May 19, 2023. She was born and raised in Blue Island and lived there for the majority of her life.
Norma is survived by her two sons, William (Kathryn) Rutz and Robert (Linda) Rutz. She is the proud grandmother of Jennifer (Mitchell) Oakland, Carolyn (Patrick) Conners, Andrew (Cory) Rutz, Allison (Matteson) Norman, and Zachary (Haley) Rutz. Norma is the cherished great grandmother of Elliott, Delaney, Kendall, Boe, William, Emery, Gabriel, Colby, Maeve and Grace.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, William Rutz, her parents, John and Hazel nee Renfro Jurries, and one brother, James (the late Barbara) Jurries.
Norma was a lifelong member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Blue Island, and served faithfully for many years as a member of the Altar Guild. She was an avid bowler and loved to play poker and pinochle. Norma enjoyed watching sports and was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears.
A private interment will be held at First Lutheran Cemetery in Alsip.
