Antonio R. Castro, 75, of Blue Island, passed from this life Monday, April 24, 2023.


Antonio was the beloved husband of the late Elida nee Patlan, who passed away November 13, 2018. The couple were united in marriage at St. Benedict Church on January 29, 1974. He is the loving father of Daniel (Maribel) Castro and Catherine (Richard) Ryan. Antonio is the devoted grandfather of Karina, Jaina, Isabella, David and Luke. He is the dear brother of the late Luz Ramirez, Carmen Castro, the late Valentine (Connie) Castro, Rebecca Galan and Caroline Dawson. Antonio leaves many other family members and friends to cherish his memory.


Antonio was born June 7, 1947 in Blue Island to the late Antonio Castro and the late Guadalupe nee Montoya. He was a United States Army veteran serving in Germany from 1966-1969. Antonio was formerly employed by School District 130 as a custodian, for over twenty-five years at Lincoln School. He was a faithful member of St. Benedict Church/St. Mary Magdalene Parish.


Visitation for Antonio will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Cremation will be private.
