John F. Zaher of Blue Island passed from this life Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the age of 61. John was born June 3, 1961 in Chicago to the late Joseph Zaher and the late Stella nee Gritz. He is the beloved brother of Sharon (Jack) DerKacy, Joseph Zaher, Janet (Chris) Shukstor, Mark (Kathy) Zaher, Martin Zaher, Matthew (Charlene) Zaher and the late Michael Zaher. John is a cherished uncle, a fond great uncle, a loving godfather and a dear friend to many.
John was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish and work in his garden.
Visitation for John will be held Wednesday, September 14 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will take place Thursday 10:30 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, 7201 S. Archer Ave., Justice.
