Obituary of Jane A. Laskey

Jane A. Laskey nee Jurek, of Calumet Park passed from this life Friday, June 3, 2022 at the age of 93. Jane was born November 14, 1928 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Agnes and the late Frank Jurek. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years, Felix Laskey. Jane is survived by her two loving children, Katherine Taylor and Robert Laskey. One dear son, James, preceded her in death in 1973. Jane is also the cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Eric) Vanden Hull, the proud great grandmother of Owen and Taylor. She is the dear sister of Rose Extin and the late Marge Buttice, late Jean Seleb who was Jane’s identical twin, late Marcy Kunz, late Richard Jurek, late Carol Kezis and the late Delores Kaye and the fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Jane was a faithful member of Seven Holy Founders Parish and S.S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She was formerly employed by Seven Holy Founders school for many years as a secretary and upon the closing of SHF, she remained as a secretary for the Early Learning Center. Her kindness and dedication to the school children went above and beyond. Jane liked playing games, such as scrabble and rummy, however she found the most enjoyment on the Casino Boats! She would relax by knitting beautiful scarfs for family and friends. Visitation for Jane will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022, from 9:30 am until time of the service at 11:30 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 6001 W. 111th St., Alsip.
