Judith A. Plate of Blue Island, Illinois passed from this life Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the age of 83. She was born March 7, 1939 in Blue Island to the late John Peter Buis and the late Irene Ada nee Ames.

Judy is the beloved wife of the late John (Jack) Plate and the loving mother of Lori Wasion, Cindy (Bill) Heisterman and John (Lena) Plate. She is the cherished grandmother of Lindsey, Heather, Billy, Brian, Kevin, Nina, Kristy and John and the proud great grandmother of nine. Judy is the dear sister of Sandra (late Lester Leikel) and John (Diane) Buis. She was loved by many nieces and nephews.

Judy is a member of Evangelical Community Church of Blue Island and belonged to the Women's Guild of the church. She was a former employee of St. Francis Hospital. Judy loved ceramics, knitting, and crocheting. She loved her family and besides her church, was the center and focus of her life.

The sweet memory of Judy will remain forever in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 18, at 11:00 am at Evangelical Community Church, 2237 W. 120th St., Blue Island. The memorial service will be preceded by 2 hours of visitation at the church beginning at 9:00 am. The cremation was private.
