Obituary of Rose Vena

Rose Vena nee Russo, 92 of Chicago, formerly of Blue Island, passed away from natural causes on January 28th, 2022. Rose was born on Dec 12, 1929 in Santa Lucia, Italy to the late Asunta Russo nee Andrieri and the late Joseph Russo. Rose worked for many years at Blue Island Community hospital in the nursery taking care of newborns and loved her job. After her move to California she continued to work in the hospital at Glendale Memorial until retirement. In California Rose and her husband took advantage of living close to the ocean and took many camping trips along the California coast. Rose was married to the late Lorenzo Vena for 50 years and after his death in 1997 returned to Chicago to be close to family. Rose had 4 children; Carmine Vena, Rose Berk, Lorenzo Vena and Jeffrey Vena. She had 3 grandchildren; Micheal Vena, Tomas Vena and Nicolas Vena. Rose had one sister, Mary Flassig nee Russo. Visitation for Rose will be held on Friday February 11, 2022 from 10 am until time of a prayer service at 11:45am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Interment will follow at St Casimir Catholic Cemetery in Chicago.
