Obituary of Stephen Richard Meilahn

Stephen Richard Meilahn, 46, of Alsip, passed from this life Sunday, January 2, 2022 . Stephen was born March 21, 1975 in Livonia, Michigan to Donna L. nee Charters and Michael Paul Meilahn. He was a United States Army veteran. Stephen was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Alsip and was employed as a heavy duty tow truck operator. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and was a lover of all animals. Stephen is the loving father of Samuel Meilahn and the beloved fiance of Margaret Vahl. He leaves his parents and many other family members and friends to cherish his memory. Visitation for Stephen will be held Monday, January 10, 2022 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4041 W. 120th St., Alsip. Stephen will lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Jefferson Memorial Park in Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial donations to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
