Obituary of Jahzeel Escobedo

Jahzeel Escobedo, 46, of Blue Island, passed from this life Tuesday, November 2, 2021. Jahzeel was born November 27, 1974, in Blue Island to Amparo Lopez and Neftali Escobedo. He is the loving brother of Abdiel I. Escobedo and Luis M. Serna. Jahzeel leaves many other family members and friends to cherish his memory. He had a kindness and warmth that extended throughout all those around him. He jumped at the chance to help anyone in need, never asking for anything in return. Jahzeel was an athlete from a young age, but always had a love for music. After that love took root, he began to acquire equipment and eventually gained experience as a DJ. It was his favorite pastime and his passion. He played in events throughout Illinois and in the Indiana area, in many types of venues for the past 20+ years. Jahzeel had a quiet demeanor but an unrivaled sense of humor. He built many lasting relationships in his life. Relationships that ensure his memory will live on in the hearts of those that knew him. He will be greatly missed. Visitation for Jahzeel will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Bethel Pentecostal Church, 2726 Broadway, Blue Island. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 am at the church. Interment will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
