Obituary of Peter V. Torres

Peter V. Torres, of Calumet Park, passed from this life Friday, October 1, 2021. Peter was born in Blue Island to the late Esther nee Vera and the late Ambrosia Torres. He was formerly employed by International Harvester West Pullman Works. Peter was a quiet, gentle soul. He enjoyed walking, so much so, that once upon a time, he walked from the Eastside of Blue Island all the way Downtown to State Street! Of course, he also walked back home again! Peter was the beloved brother of the late Charlie Torres, late John Torres, late Paul Torres, late Sally Vasquez, late Margaret Beals and the late Frances Torres. He is the cherished uncle of Geraldine, Ronald, Dwayne, Charles, Margaret, Sandra, Roxanne, late William, Kurt, late Karen, late Keith, Kathy and Margo. Peter leaves many other family members to cherish his memory. Visitation for Peter will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with prayers being said at 5:00 pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Interment will take place Friday, at 11:00 am at St. Benedict Cemetery in Crestwood.
