Obituary of Julie Kay Ford

Julie Kay Ford nee Mitchell of Crete, age 59, passed from this life Thursday, September 23, 2021 from sudden illness surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 6, 1962 to the late Charles Mitchell and the late Judy nee Race and grew up in Momence, Illinois. Julie is the beloved wife of late Edward J. Ford and the loving mother of Patrick (Melissa) Doud, Anthony (Ashleigh) Doud and step-daughter Nichole Ford. She is the proud grandmother of Harper Doud, the dear sister of Rhonda Nagel and Preston Mitchell and the fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Julie had an amazing, caring soul that would help anyone, often putting others before herself. She absolutely adored being a Nana to Harper and spoiled her dog Hope and grand puppy Diesel. She enjoyed doing crafts and showing off pictures of her family whom she was very proud of. Julie was a dedicated employee for over twenty five years at Federal Signal in University Park. Her co-workers described her as sweet, kind, full of laughter and a fun-loving spirit. She gained many friends over her years there and will be greatly missed by all. Memorial visitation for Julie and Edward will be held Friday, October 15, from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Their funeral mass will take place at St. Benedict Church (now known as St. Mary Magdalene Church), 2339 York St., Blue Island on Saturday, October 16, at 10:00am. Cremation private.
