Obituary of Margaret R. Orozco

Margaret R. Orozco nee Lopez, 91, of Blue Island, passed from this life Friday, August 13, 2021. Margaret was born May 22, 1930 in Blue Island to the late Ildefonsa nee Compian and the late Louis Lopez. She was a lifelong resident of Blue Island and a faithful member of St. Benedict Parish, where she served on the Womens Club. Margaret was also a volunteer at St. Francis Hospital. Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Alex Orozco, who passed away in 1991. The couple were united in marriage in 1957. She is the loving mother of Alejandro (Julie) Orozco, Susan (late David) Orozco-Canino, Ann (Robert) Signore and the late Steven Orozco. Margaret is the devoted grandmother of Matthew, Melissa, Alyssa, Michael, Ashley, Joey, Alexandra and Amanda and the cherished great grandmother of Ethan, Nicolas, Andrew and Elena. Margaret is the dear sister of Minnie Rincon, Manuel Lopez and Thomas Lopez and was preceded in death by seven other siblings. Visitation for Margaret will be held Monday, August 16, 2021, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral services begin Tuesday 9:00am with chapel prayers at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island, followed by Mass at 10:00am at St. Benedict Church, 2339 York St., Blue Island. Interment will take place at St. Benedict Cemetery, Crestwood.
