Obituary of Beverly Vlasvich

Beverly Vlasvich nee Fisher of Calumet Park and formerly of Blue Island, passed from this life Friday, July 16, 2021 at the age of 92. She was born May 7, 1929 in Blue Island to the late Frank Fisher and the late Anita nee Frentz. Beverly was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas and the loving mother of Nicholas (Barbara) Vlasvich, Audrey Vlasvich and Nancy (Thomas) Pokorski. She is the cherished grandmother of Christopher (Kelly), Steven (Nina) and Rachel and the proud great grandmother of 4. Beverly is the dear sister of the late Virginia who passed away as an infant. Beverly worked as a telephone operator for Illinois Bell in Blue Island for 7 years. She was a lifelong and active member of Christ Memorial Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher and as a member of the Church Consistory, Evening Guild and Couples Fellowship. But first and foremost, family was most important to Beverly. She was kind, generous, and sharing. Mommy, as we called her, was always concerned and wanted to help with our problems in life and also enjoyed sharing our successes, triumphs, and happy times. We are grateful and blessed that she lived her long life of 92 years with us. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 20, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. She will lie in state Wednesday, July 21, from 10:00am until the time of her service at 11:00am at Christ Memorial United Church of Christ, 2440 York St., Blue Island. Interment will take place at First Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in Alsip.
