Obituary of Jose Gomez

Jose Gomez, 85, passed from this life Saturday, May 1st at his home in Blue Island. Jose is the beloved husband of Carmen nee Arevalo and the loving father of Elizabeth (David Marks) Gomez, Jose (Rosa) Gomez Jr. and Maria C. (Jose Luis) Ontiveros. He is the cherished grandfather of Lauren, Melissa, Melinda, Jonathan and Christian and the dear brother of Julie (Richard) Pearson, Hope (Tom) Radliff, Noemi (Hector) Guzman, Phil (Wanda) Gomez, Rachel Allen, Ofelia Brosnan, Virginia Gomez, late Larry Gomez, late Amelia Antal, late Manuel Gomez and his late parents, Enrique and Aurelia Gomez. Jose worked as a landscaper and in maintenance and his hobbies included gardening and playing the acoustic guitar. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 6, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave. in Blue Island. Chapel prayers Friday, May 7, 9:00am at Krueger Funeral Home, then to St. Benedict Church, 2339 York St., Blue Island for Mass at 10:00am. Interment St. Benedict Cemetery, Crestwood.
