Obituary of Jose 'Joe' Ortiz

Jose 'Joe' Ortiz, 63, long-time resident of Blue Island, passed from this life Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Ingalls Hospice in Harvey. Joe is the beloved son of the late Rafael Ortiz and the late Maria Jesus Arauza and the dear brother of the late Maria Angela, late Isabel and the late Alfredo. Joe is the owner and operator of Joe's Fruit Market in Blue Island and has served as President of a local soccer team for many years. Joe had a great smile and would never deny anyone a favor. He will be truly missed by many. Visitation will be held Monday, March 22, from 3:00 pm until 8:00pm. Funeral services will take place Tuesday, March 23, at 11:00 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Interment St. Benedict Cemetery in Crestwood. Memorial donations to the family would be greatly appreciated.
