James Bright Jr.

Obituary of James A. Bright Jr.

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 Our beloved angel was born into this world as James A. Bright on May 3, 1964. He was affectionately called Denny by his family and friends. Denny attended Nansen Elementary School and Percy L. Julian High School. Denny was a Lieutenant for the Chicago Fire Department. Denny met and married Kimberly and to this union two children were born. Denny was coached by his dad in baseball, which he loved. Denny also loved bowling, traveling, and cars. Denny had friends that were actually like brothers to him. Denny had such a humbling soul and that’s the person he was, definitely loved by many. Denny made his transition to eternal life on Saturday, February 13, 2021. His beloved mother Delaine Bright and brother Andrew C. Freeman preceded him in death. Denny leaves to cherish his memories a son James A. Bright, III of Alsip, IL; a daughter Delaine K. Bright of Spring, TX; a father Arby James (Vendella) Bright of Chicago, IL; three sisters: Terry Bright of Alsip, IL, Diane (Milburn) Sims of Bolingbrook, IL, and Tamera (Hosea) Germany of Forest Park, IL; a brother Jeremy Bright of Chicago, IL; two aunts: Diane Dillard of Chicago, IL and Paula Dawkins of Grand Rapids, MI; three besties forever: Derrick, Ernest, and Sean Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His legacy is the joy and laughter given to each of us throughout his 56 years. Today, there is joy in our hearts because Denny has been elevated as our guardian angel. Visitation for Denny will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 10:00 am until 12 noon. Cremation will be private.
