From Glenda--This photo was taken in 2007 at Fiddlers' Feast Mountain Legacy Supper Show in Pigeon Forge. My mother and Robert were married for 38 years. They were able to share some wonderful experiences together, and Robert was a good and decent man. Good to her and for her, and good to me and David. He was always willing to lend an ear, or a helping hand, and we thought the world of him. During one of the last conversations I had with him, we reminisced about those days and he laughed and said, those were good times. Indeed they were. We will always remember them fondly and cherish our memories of him. My heartfelt sympathy to the rest of Robert's family.
From David--Robert (Bob) was my father-in-law, good friend, work partner, and partner in good conversation. He was always more interested in how things had been going with you, rather than things he had done since he had last seen you. He loved to help me with my crops, and work on our farm. I always looked forward to when they came to visit us. I learned a lot from Bob: hard work, kindness, do the job right. I miss those times now. My life was blessed having had him as family and friend.
