Obituary of Alfredo Ortiz

Alfredo Ortiz, 60, of Blue Island passed from this life Friday, October 9, 2020. Alfredo was born August 3, 1960 in Mexico to the late Maria DeJesus Arauza and Rafael Ortiz. He was employed by Joe's Fruit Market for over twenty years as a butcher. Alfredo was an avid soccer fan. He loved watching his favorite soccer team "La Chivas" on TV whenever they played, and you could always find him on the couch enjoying the game. Alfredo was a great friend to all who knew him. He was a generous and kind man who helped whoever asked a favor. Alfredo had a big heart and touched many lives. He will be missed by all who knew him. Alfredo was preceded in death by his beloved companion Elvia Frausto. He is survived by his four "adopted children", Mayra Valdez, Angelica Vergara, Miguel Arellano and Edgardo Frausto. Alfredo is the dear brother of Rafael Ortiz, Moises Ortiz, Jose Ortiz, Micaela Ortiz , Maria Guadalupe Ortiz and the late Maria de los Angeles and Isabel Ortiz. Visitation for Alfredo will be held Friday, October 16, 2020, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral services will take place Saturday, at 10:00 am, at The Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Interment will take place at St. Benedict Cemetery, Crestwood. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, all precautions must be adhered to and will be enforced. All visitors must have facial coverings and follow social distancing standards of 6 feet. The number of visitors will be monitored and it is requested that you refrain from physical contact.
