Gregoria S. Guerrero, 94, of Blue Island, passed from this life Saturday, September 26, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Melquiades B. Guerrero, who passed away June 21, 1996. Gregoria is the loving mother of Soila Gonzalez, Irais Rodriguez, Irma (Javier) Castillo, Francisco Guerrero, Tereso Guerrero, Maria C, Gomez and Olivio Guerrero. She is the devoted grandmother of Ruth Guerrero, Ramon Gonzalez Jr., Magdalena Zarazua, Eulalio Gonzalez, Edith Rodriguez, Herbert Rodriguez, Eric Rodriguez, Aldo Rodriguez, Francisco Javier (Amaya) Castillo, Michael (Ittai) Castillo, Adrian Castillo, Cynthia Guerrero, Stephen Tanis, Melissa Gomez, Melinda Gomez. Gregoria is the cherished great grandmother of Danielle Quiroz, Ruby Gonzalez, Isis Gonzalez, Kayla Zarazua, Katlynn Zarazua, Eliana Isabella Guzman, Mario Alejandro Guzman, Cynthia Rodriguez, Crystal Rodriguez, Melanie Rodriguez, Eric Rodriguez Jr., Tony Rodriguez, Angel Rodriguez, Fianna Arely Castillo, Naveah Castillo, Ruby Castillo, Jade Castillo, Stephanie Gerstner, Daniel Gerstner and Alexander Guerrero. She is the proud great great grandmother of Emily Alcaraz and Olivia Alcaraz. Gregoria was born November 17, 1925 in Villa Juarez, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to the late Margarita Guerrero and Ignacio Sanchez. Gregoria found her greatest joy within her family, she especially enjoyed Christmas, a time in which her home was filled with voices and laughter of those she loved most. She also had a fondness for birds and kept parrots, cockatiels and parakeets as her prized pets. Gregoria had a passion for gardening and found peace among the beauty of the many bright colors of nature, with roses being her favorite flower. Visitation for Gregoria will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Chapel prayers will begin Wednesday at 9:00 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island, then to St. Benedict Church, 2339 York St., Blue Island, for mass at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at St. Benedict Cemetery, Crestwood. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, all precautions must be adhered to and will be enforced. All visitors must have facial coverings and follow social distancing standards of 6 feet. The number of visitors will be monitored and it is requested that you refrain from physical contact. Out of courtesy to all who wish to pay their respects, please keep your time in the chapel brief.
