Obituary of Ricardo B. Origel

Ricardo B. "Corky" Origel, 85, of Blue Island, passed from this life Sunday, August 30, 2020. Ricardo is the beloved husband of Juanita V. nee Delapaz and the former husband of Mary Origel nee Rangel. He is the loving father of Laura Weber, Sandra (Nick) Arenas, Ricardo (Carol) Origel, Debra Origel and Lisa Herring, step-father of Marc A. Mandujano. Ricardo is the cherished grandfather of ten and the proud great grandfather of eight. He is the dear brother of Maria Luisa Vega, Gloria Casillas, Teresa Perez, Cecelia Origel, Robert Origel, Manuel Origel, Fernando Origel and the late Ramon Origel, Louis Origel and Anthony Origel. Ricardo leaves many other family members and friends to cherish his memory. Ricardo was a United States Army veteran, serving with the 82nd Airborne in the Korean War. He loved music, dancing and watching John Wayne Westerns. A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, September 3, 2020, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Cremation was private. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, all precautions must be adhered to and will be enforced. All visitors must have facial coverings and follow social distancing standards of 6 feet. The number of visitors will be monitored and it is requested that you refrain from physical contact. Out of courtesy to all who wish to pay their respects, please keep your time in the chapel brief.
