Obituary of Arturo Soto
Arturo Soto, an electrician and long term resident of Chicago, passed from this life Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at the age of 59. Arturo is survived by his parents, Francisca Hortencia Mejia and Maximino Soto, his daughters Yvette and Jenica Soto, his grandson Arturo Romero and his brother, Carlos Soto. He is also the proud uncle of Rocio, Carlos Jr., Gema, Alejandro, Magaly and Leonardo Soto and great uncle of Briana Diaz.
Arturo was born on the 25th of November of 1960 in Durango, Mexico to Francisca Hortencia Mejia and Maximino Soto. He was enthusiastically employed at IBEW Local Union 134. Arturo was a devoted father who loved riding motorcycles, fishing and playing volleyball with his friends. He was also a collector of trinkets and enjoyed working with tools to create new gadgets. He was an accomplished member of groups “Libertad Y Esperanza” and “Solo Por Hoy” and all were proud to know such a kind man.
The wake services for Arturo are scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Krueger Funeral Home 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Holy mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 11533 S. Praire Ave., Chicago. Interment will take place in Durango, Mexico to complete his wishes to return to his hometown.
