Obituary of Linda M. Smolik

Linda M. Smolik nee Kosmos, 75, of Worth, passed from this life suddenly on Thursday, September 19, 2019. Linda is the beloved mother of Sue (Mark) Nelson and Michael Smolik and the loving grandmother of David, Ty (Amber) , Tim (Madi), Christina, Bridget and Jade. She is the proud great grandmother of Savannah, Caleb, Cole, Briana, Brycen, Kambria, Colton, Avery, Preston and Skyler and the cherished sister of Tom (Pam) Kosmos, Dan (Donna) Kosmos, late Jim (Penny) Kosmos and Shirley (Steve) Martinez. Linda is the dear godmother of Steve Jr., Becky and the late Jeff and the fond aunt of Tracy, Tommy (Hara), Becky, Danny (Courtney), late Jeff, Jamie, Kayden and Steve Jr. She also leaves behind her beloved partner Enrique Fierro of 28 years and extended family Brian and Debbie Glasgow. She leaves many other family members and friends to cherish her memory.

Linda was dedicated to her family and friends.The love she carried in her heart was expressed by her beautiful smile and laughter that she shared with all. Linda was especially dedicated to her Great Grandchildren and spent much of her time driving them to school, practice and watching them play sports. She loved her music, reading and spending time with her dear cousins and friends. “Grandma Linda” as many would know her by, was well known for baking her cupcakes and brownies for family parties and gatherings.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 1:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 4:30 pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. A Celebration of Linda's Life will be held immediately following the memorial service at The Eagles Hall, 2427 Grove St., Blue Island. The cremation is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or Ronald McDonald House Charities (www.rmhc.org) greatly appreciated.
