Obituary of Ethel Ann Smith

Ethel Ann Smith nee Stevo, 78, of Orland Park, passed from this life Wednesday, July 10, 2019. She is the beloved wife of Charles J. Smith. The couple were united in marriage on May 7, 1966. Ethel is the loving sister of Ruth (John) Hochberger, John (the late Marie) Stevo, Robert (Sharon) Stevo, the late Edward Stevo, Charlene (Leslie) Dean, Cynthia (the late Abdul) Sajid and Allan (Shella) Stevo. She is the devoted aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Ethel was born May 31, 1941, in Blue Island to the late Bessie and the late John Stevo. She was a former employee of the Rock Island Railroad, as an Administrative Assistant and secretary to the Vice President. Ethel was a faithful member of St. Peter & St. Paul Lutheran Church of Blue Island where she served on the Church Council and also the Ladies Altar Guild.

Visitation for Ethel will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Funeral services will be conducted Monday. Ethel will lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at St. Peter & St. Paul Lutheran Church, 13153 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Entombment will take place at Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago.
