Obituary of Lawrence Thomas Lynch

Lawrence T. Lynch, 67, life-long resident of the south side, passed from this life Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Veterans Home in LaSalle, Illinois. Larry is the beloved husband of Monica nee Podbielski, whom he married on October 31, 1998, and the loving father of Juliana, Philip and Alexander Lynch.  Larry is the cherished son of the late William and Catherine nee Reid and the dearest brother of John Lynch.  He is the fond son-in-law of Wincelaus and Rosemary Podbielski, the dear brother-in-law of Dr. Francis (Anna) Podbielski and Joseph (Lucia) Podbielski, and the proud uncle of Linda and Lisa Podbielski.

Larry was a veteran of the US Army, serving from 1971 to 1973 and was a 32 year employee of Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park.  He was a Past Grand Knight, Past Faithful Navigator, former District Deputy and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.  Larry also served with the DuPage County Degree Staff and was Chairman Emeritus of the Illinois State Council Wrecking Crew.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 5, from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. The funeral will begin with chapel prayers on Saturday, October 6, at 8:30 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island then to Incarnation Church, 5757 W. 127th St., Palos Heights for Mass at 9:30 am. Interment will take place in St. Benedict Cemetery, 4600 W. 135th St., Crestwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Veterans Home LaSalle or the St. Margaret's Hospital Hospice of Spring Valley, IL.
