Tim Kliros was a good man to have as a friend. Funny and fun loving, he had a serious side, especially about the things he cared for. In high school, that included wrestling. On the mat he was tenacious, an ISL Champion, and pound-for-pound the best wrestler on our team. However, his dedication to the sport sometimes wandered into the extreme. Like the time he talked me into going to a summer wrestling camp in Wisconsin. Where else would you pay money to have three grueling wrestling practices a day? Still, Tim made it fun and made you laugh, even through the pain.
Tim was serious about his profession. A skilled craftsman he took great pride in his work. One had only to visit his home to see his dedication and skill. Tim was also serious about the public and cultural issues of the day. He thought deeply and I always came away from a visit with Tim with a new thought or perspective.
Above all, Tim was most serious about and dedicated to his family. In any conversation, a good portion of the conversation was about Tammy, Alexis and Samantha. His love was so evident, a love that does not die.
God bless you Tim, may the Lord cause his face to shine on you and give you peace.

Such a loss. I remember Tim as being chill, popular and pretty funny through elementary school at Sutherland. I enjoyed catching up with him on FB. Sounds like he was surrounded with women like my husband. Hugs, prayers and loving thoughts for his family

I was Tim's classmate all through elementary school. Most of the girls were in love with him! He was my first kiss in 8th Grade. (Cheek only!) I'm so sorry to hear that he has passed so soon. My prayers and sympathy and love to his family!!

It is with sincere and heartfelt sympathy that we write this note to Tim's wife and daughters. We wanted to share with you our precious memories we shared with Tim when we first enjoyed visiting Cameo Restaurant at 59th Street and Western Avenue while we were dating and dining there. All these years later, I still had the privilege of working on your family's cars at Diamond Auto in Hometown. How blessed we've been to have a great guy like Tim that touched our lives! Our prayers are with all of you.

I am so sad to hear that Tim has passed away! Gone too soon! I met Tim freshman year at MPA- he was my first “ crush” in High School and my date for Homecoming. When we “ re-connected” thru Facebook several years ago, he told me he was afraid of my Dad! He also shared that he had a very satisfying, happy life, a wonderful wife and two precious daughters. I send my heartfelt condolences to you 3, and all his loving family and friends. Although he is gone much too soon, I hope all your memories will give you some strength and solace..

I’m sick to hear this... although I’ve not seen Tim since MPA years... He was instrumental in making my High School memories all that they could be... I still remember the Souped up white Votzwagon w/red leather seats and claw shift bar...his dry whit and unsuspecting humor made him Tim Kliros to us...only one like him... God made him special... and even tho he wasn’t Italian... he was pretty dang cool ! I always loved Greek food and people just as much... a huge sense of family and generosity...
Tim... if your listening... thank you my friend for all the good times and gut wrenching laughter you provided ...
You will be missed my friend
Eric Spinazzola class of 75
Kitty my best to you sweetheart and your precious family... our thoughts and prayers coming your way for sure...

I am saddened to hear of the loss of Tim Kliros. We were together in the same class at Sutherland and at Morgan Park Academy. I had not been in touch with Tim in many years, but remember him as a very fun and spirited guy. I remember sitting on a tall fence during senior year talking about what we would do after graduation. Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss.

From my toddler years into my years at Sutherland, I grew up across 100th St. from Tim. He was my first best friend. My Mother used to say she couldn’t imagine what we talked about, for all those hours sitting on the sidewalk in front of our houses. I wish I could remember.
We lost touch long ago. But I have always hoped life was good to him and his family. My condolences to his wife and daughters, and to my old neighbors, Kitty & Candy.

How sad I was to learn of Tim's passing, but the next thought that came to mind was a happy memory: the almost-daily after-school "war games" played by the neighborhood boys between 99th & 100th St's and Bell & Oakley Ave's. Tim was a ringleader & fearless as we scaled neighbors' trees, moved across their garage roofs, etc. The Grand Challenge was to traverse the block from 99th St to 100th St without touching the ground. The other challenge was doing our best to avoid Tim's big brother, Jim, who showed no mercy to those who failed! We graduated from Sutherland to MPA where the fun continued, but was far more structured. Tim, my brother Ed, & I were the first ones to take the mat for MPA in wrestling matches during our time there. We also were each other's sparring partners during practices for the matches. Lots of sweat, hard knocks, & a bit of blood to get us ready for competition. I have such fond memories of my boyhood experiences with Tim. I am sad to learn of his passing, and I hope his family -- Tammy, children, Kitty, Candy, & all others -- will find comfort from their memories of life with a good kind-hearted man.
