Obituary of Rita Marie Fernandez

Rita Marie Fernandez nee Mirelez, 58, of Blue Island, formerly of Roseland, passed from this life November 20, 2017. She is the beloved wife of Jesus Fernandez. Rita is the cherished mother of Reinaldo Fernandez, Adan (Christina) Fernandez, Noemi Fernandez and Elisabet (Alejandro) Sandoval. She is the adored grandmother of Julian Fernandez, Armani Fernandez, Amadeo Fernandez, Destiny Martinez, Alyas Fernandez, Jazmyne Martinez, Ignacio Benites, Trinity Fernandez, Nevaeh Sandoval-Fernandez, Alejandro Sandoval-Fernandez, Ezequiel Sandoval- Fernandez, Genevieve Alvarado and Giselle Sandoval-Fernandez and the proud great grandmother of  Zulemar Fernandez and Arielle Fernandez. Rita is the loving  sister of  Louis Guerrero, Dolores Caratachea, Rosemary Zamora, Jennie Lopez, Robert Guerrero and Gregory Mirelez. She is the dear aunt of many nieces and nephews. 

Rita is a dedicated caregiver to her family, she enjoyed spending time with them and her friends. She is currently employed at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey.

Visitation for Rita will be held Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Chapel prayers will be held Monday at 9:00 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island, then to St. Benedict Church, 2339 York St., Blue Island for mass at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip.
